As gallery owner and curator I am very pleased with the result of our current exhibition, Seasons. The theme was suggested by one of our artist members some 12-18 months ago when I submitted our exhibition application into the Moore’s Building in Fremantle. Very definitely a quality venue for not only the way it looks, but the professionalism of the management and the quality people it attracts. It has simply been a delight to be working in this space.
Back to the exhibition theme…. yes so… each of our member artists were invited to create a new work, 4 in fact, one for each season – you know Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter – and I have curated them across the 4 gallery rooms plus a stock room (in the 5th gallery room) which is generating alot of interest. The motivation behind the stock room is to display as much work as possible as we are an online art gallery.
But I must confess after curating and installing the Seasons exhibition, when I entered the stock room it felt like I was installing a whole new exhibition. Which indeed I was – with 50 works on display. But this gallery is focusing on small to medium sized works.
Anyway, if you’re in Perth then visit us at 46 Henry Street Fremantle or view onlineĀ http://interactivearts.com.au/search/seasons
